Thermomechanical Analyzer (TMA)

What we can do

You may get important material characteristics by analyzing the dimension change-vs.-temperature curves.

  • Coefficient of Thermal Expansion, CTE
  • Glass Transition Temperature, Tg
  • Time to Delamination
  • Softening Point
  • Shrinkage Percentage

What is TMA?

The Thermomechanical Analyzer measures the dimension changes of samples under varying temperatures or forces by placing sample in a furnace programmed with rising, declining, or constant temperatures and purged with constant ambient gas (e.g. nitrogen) and forces.
