Booking.com offers up Madden Cruiser for Super Bowl experience

  • Booking.com is offering one football fan and a friend a Super Bowl trip of a lifetime, with a chance to tour New Orleans in the fabled Madden Cruiser, a custom-built bus once used by football legend John Madden. 
  • The “Iconic Madden Cruiser Experience” will be bookable on a first-come, first-served basis for one booker and a guest on February 3, at noon ET, for a three-day trip beginning February 7 and running through Super Bowl weekend. The trip will include a guided city tour, exclusive meet-and-greet opportunities, access to a premier Big Game party and other festivities. The price for the whole experience will be $19.87 in honor of the year the first bus was commissioned. 
  • The “Madden Experience” promo will lead up to Booking.com appearing as an advertiser during the Super Bowl’s broadcast during the fourth quarter of the game, according to the company. However, the spot will not feature the Madden Cruiser. 

The “Iconic Madden Cruiser Experience” is designed to reinforce Booking.com as a travel platform that offers unique travel experiences that can be tied to cultural moments, according to Ben Harrell, managing director of the US at Booking.com. The brand’s audience is one that is looking for access to curated and memorable trips that combine travel, cultural exploration, and a touch of exclusivity, Harrel said. 

“The Madden Cruiser, being an iconic symbol associated with football, ties directly into the excitement surrounding the Big Game,” Harrell added. “The experience not only delivers a unique, unforgettable experience but also showcases its ability to cater to diverse travel preferences. This message aligns with our upcoming commercial that will launch during the Big Game.”

The three-day experience will include travel in the Madden Cruiser to and from the airport in New Orleans, a guided tour that will include stops within the French Quarter, a walk through St. Louis Cemetery No. 3, a private hangout session with NFL legend Terrell Owens and TV personality Rosci Diaz and access to an exclusive Saturday night pre-game party and a Super Bowl viewing party in the Warehouse District in the shadow of the stadium. 

The brand is promoting the Iconic Madden Cruiser Experience through its owned media channels, including its website, app and social media platforms, including TikTok and Instagram.
